Each round to start from the standing position

restarts during a round to be with the fighters facing one another on their knees

pins, sustained controlling holds and submissions would all score points, with the balance in favour of straddle pins

straddle pins - schoolboy pins, bully pins, grapevines etc. held for 10 seconds would count for 2 points, or 3 points if continued for a further 10 seconds (i.e. up to 20 seconds in all), with a further bonus point if at least 10 seconds of the 20 were in a bully pin

other pins (one wrestler held on his back with his shoulders broadly touching the ground) for 5 seconds would get 1 point (this would include a straddle pin which was broken after 5 but before 10 seconds)

controlling holds (one wrestler maintaining a controlling hold on the other for 10 seconds) would get 1 point

submissions would gain 1 point.
